Located on a quiet tree-lined residential street in the Little Neck neighborhood, it is next to a large park with playgrounds and ample outdoor space including a school garden. Staff members provide translations and interpretation in Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Greek, and Hindi to serve the diverse community.
The school has a well-developed curriculum, effective teaching, and high expectations, according to a Department of Education evaluation called the Quality Review.
Students learn to think critically, analyze problems and take part in student-led discussions. The school offers a full range of accelerated Regents courses, so most students go on to 9th grade with high school credit.
Students may go on overnight trips to Washington D.C.
