Markella Hatziano, the renowned Greek mezzo-soprano, was born in Athens, Greece.
At the tender age of 13, she received a scholarship to the National Conservatory. By the remarkable age of 18, she had graduated with distinction from the Hatziano Conservatory.
Career Breakthrough and International Debut
Hatziano's operatic debut came at the age of 23 at the National Opera of Greece, where she performed the role of Eboli in Verdi's "Don Carlos." Following her Greek debut, she made her international debut with the Opera Company of Boston, singing roles such as Suzuki in Puccini's "Madama Butterfly."
